Festival of the Lost is Destiny 2‘s own take on a Halloween celebration. There are Chocolate Strange Coins, treat bags, candy pieces that explode out of enemies, and yes, even some masks and other loot items to earn. If you’re a collector in the world of Destiny 2, you might be interested in the Ghost shell, ship, and sparrow you can get from the Festival of the Lost event. This is just a reminder that you only have one week to grind for those items.
Festival of the Lost wraps up on Tuesday, Nov. 3. If you’re just jumping in, or you’re a little bit behind, here’s what you do and what you should spend your time on:
- If you haven’t, pick up the initial quest from Eva.
- Visit the Spider at the Tangled Shore to fulfil the next quest step.
- Complete Crucible matches or playlist strikes to earn Cipher Decoders.
- Complete Haunted Forest runs and use the Cipher Decoders to open the caches at the end of the forest.
The main Festival of the Lost loop is tied to the last two items above. Earning Cipher Decoders means you can open more caches in the Haunted Forest. Opening caches will net you masks and special Festival of the Lost weapons. Opening a certain number of caches will get you the unique Ghost shell, ship, and sparrow tied to the event. Everything else, to be honest, is just noise.
Here’s how many caches you’ll need to open for your rewards:
- Restless Shell (Ghost Shell) – 15 caches
- Tomb Rider (Sparrow) – 30 caches
- Wrap Speed (Ship) – 45 cachces
If you’ve been playing this whole time and are already bored with the Festival, there’s some good news, at least — it’s over soon. Once we hit Nov. 3, we’ll only have a one week wait before Beyond Light drops.
