Secure your exotic weapons

When Beyond Light drops and things move into the Destiny Content Vault, it’s going to screw with a bunch of things. This includes exotic weapon sources. A slew of exotics are either obtained from quests on certain planets, or require actions on certain planets. When those planets go, so too will your ability to get those exotics — at least for the moment.

Bungie has stated it plans to introduce a kiosk in the Tower for these exotics. What’s not yet clear, however, is how that kiosk will function. So if you want these weapons without any additional fuss, you should try to get them now.

Here’s what Bungie says will still be earnable when Beyond Light drops. Personally, I think you should still try to get them now, just in case the cost or time investment winds up being higher.

  • Sturm
  • MIDA Multi-tool
  • Rat King
  • Legend of Acrius
  • Sleeper Simulant
  • Polaris Lance
  • Ace of Spades
  • The Last Word
  • Le Monarque
  • Jotunn
  • Izanagi’s Burden
  • Thorn
  • Lumina
  • Truth
  • Bad Juju
  • Anarchy
  • Tarrabah
  • Worldline Zero
  • Legend of Acrius

The following two weapons, according to Bungie, “will not be available to acquire at the start of Year 4.” These are definitely ones you should focus on nabbing above all else, because it is unclear when you’ll have a shot at them again.

  • Whisper of the Worm
  • Outbreak Perfected

Also, there is a Quest active right now for the Traveler’s Chosen exotic sidearm. It is unique to this season and may disappear for a while, so add that to your list of things to do.

Track down these exotic Catalysts

A Catalyst is a sort of add-on for an exotic weapon that makes it even better. Unfortunately, with a bunch of content going into the vault, a bunch of Catalysts will get caught in the crossfire. They are:

  • Whisper of the Worm Catalyst
  • Outbreak Perfected Catalyst
  • Polaris Lance Catalyst
  • Sleeper Simulant Catalyst
  • Skyburner’s Oath Catalyst
  • Telesto Catalyst
  • Legend of Acrius Catalyst
  • Worldline Zero Catalyst
  • The Huckleberry Catalyst
  • Izanagi’s Burden Catalyst

These could come back in the game at some point, becoming obtainable through some other means. Bungie hasn’t stated when this will happen or where the Catalysts will drop from, though. If you have the time, you should take matters into your own hands.
