Which Xbox Game Pass should you buy?

If nothing else, Xbox Game Pass is full of choices. Which Xbox Game Pass should you buy? That question will be answered here.
Is Xbox Game Pass Ultimate worth it?
If nothing else, Xbox Game Pass is full of choices. In addition to the hundreds of games you can play, there are three options available for a Game Pass subscription. Which Xbox Game Pass should you buy? That depends on your needs. But don’t worry — we’re about to break it all down right here.

Console

To start, there’s Xbox Game Pass for Console. If you own an Xbox One now, and you plan to own an Xbox Series X or Series S later, this could be a good subscription tier for you. Xbox Game Pass for Console offers over 100 titles, with older games being rotated out and new games being rotated in all the time. Xbox Game Pass for Console costs $9.99 per month.

PC

Xbox Game Pass for PC isn’t a far cry from the console option, though I will say that Game Pass for PC does typically get less big-name titles than its console counterpart. Of course, there are some PC-only games that Xbox Game Pass for PC can lay claim to, including a number of strategy titles from Microsoft.

Xbox Game Pass for PC will also have EA Play bundled into it starting on Nov. 10, 2020. If you want that on the console, you need to pay for the ultimate tier. Xbox Game Pass for PC costs $9.99 per month.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is worth it if you’re all in on the Xbox ecosystem, and enjoy playing games on both console and PC. Not only do you get all of the games included in Game Pass on both platforms, but you also get a bundled Xbox Live Gold subscription and access to cloud gaming through xCloud at no additional cost.

If you hash out what you’d pay for all of this separately, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is quite the bargain. Even if you only play games on console and still intended to pay for an Xbox Live Gold subscription, you end up saving money with Ultimate. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs $14.99 per month.
