Looking for more games to play as we head deeper into the fall season? Xbox Game Pass has two for you, and as of now, both are ready to roll on both console and PC. One is Ikenfell, a retro-style RPG from developer Happy Ray Games. The other is Forza Motorsport 7, a racing sim from developer Turn 10 Studios.

Here’s the description for Ikenfell, courtesy of Microsoft:

“A turn based-tactical RPG about a group of troublesome magic students. Use time-based combat mechanics to power your spells and block attacks, explore the twisted halls of a vast magic school, fight challenging monsters and bosses, find tons of hidden treasure, and uncover dark secrets never meant to be found.”

I played a bit of Ikenfell this evening, and it certainly isn’t the traditional SNES RPG you might expect based on its looks. Battles take place on a grid, and there’s a timing-based attack system, which means you cast your attack, then try to time your button press with its landing to maximize damage. I’m definitely going to put some more time into it and perhaps add share more thoughts about it later on. I think the story might have the potential to hook me, but we shall see. According to the game’s developer, it’s roughly a 20- to 25-hour affair. Not too long relative to many RPGs, but not all that short, either.

Forza Motorsport 7, meanwhile, really needs no introduction. It’s a sim racing game. You can customize your cars to the ends of the Earth and back. It’s something for the purists. This is not the “drive around and try to knock over billboards” action of the Horizon sub-franchise. Motorsport is about tuning a machine to perfection and driving it well. If that sounds like your cup of tea, that tea is now free courtesy of Xbox Game Pass.

That’s all for now. Be sure to check these out. We’ll undoubtedly have updates about the next lineup of games coming to Xbox Game Pass soon.
