If you purchased the Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order game on either Xbox One or Playstation 4 (PS4), then you are eligible to get a FREE upgrade to the current-gen version on the same console family. Unfortunately, this is not available in Japan. If you did not buy it, however, you can purchase it now for $40 on the PlayStation Store or the Xbox Store. You can also purchase the physical copies here (Xbox One) or here (PS4).
If you have the Xbox Game Pass, you can play it for a monthly subscription fee. BUT if you would like to purchase it, it is currently on sale right now at the Xbox Store for $27.49. This sale is set to end in 6 days from the time of the writing so grab it now while you still can!
What if I bought a Physical Copy?
Great question! And the short answer is — you can still get the upgrade. One of the best things about this upgrade announcement from EA is that even if you purchased a physical copy on either Xbox or PS4 you would still be eligible for the upgrade. Here’s how:
- Contact EA and provide proof of purchase of Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
- Once they are able to confirm the purchase, you will be able to gain access to the new version of the game.
If you don’t have those receipts anymore, you can always try calling the store that you purchased the game from and see if they still have a record of your purchase.
What’s New on the Current-Gen?
The current-gen version of Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order includes higher-resolution assets, textures, and 4K HDR resolution. This means that you can expect to see a faster loading time with enhanced 60 frames/second performances and incredible details while playing. What better way to really immerse yourself into the game, right?
For both the PS5 and Xbox Series X, you have the option to run the game on performance mode which plays it at 1440p at 60fps. However, you can also turn off the performance mode and play in 4K at 30fps. It all comes down to preferences, but you at least have that option. The Xbox Series S is unfortunately locked at 1080p at 60fps only.
Will my Game Data Transfer Over?
For Xbox One to Xbox Series X:
Yes, your saved data should be automatically transferred from your Xbox One to the current-gen version of the game on your Xbox Series X/S.
For PS4 to PS5:
Unfortunately for PS5, users will be required to manually transfer their data over to the current gen. Here’s how:
- Get the PS4 data on your system storage ( transfer it through cloud storage or a USB drive)
- Select the Import PS4 System Save Data option
- Transfer your save file to a current-gen system (PS5) from the PS4
- Once you are done, you should have the game transferred over and unlocked all your Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order achievements and trophies that you have earned from the previous console.
Once you are done with all of that, you should be all set to enjoy your free upgraded current-gen version of Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. Let us know if this guide was helpful to you and don’t forget to share so your friends and family can also enjoy it!
