Hit all the lore scannables
Some lore scannables are present on destinations that’ll be vaulted soon. These cue up some additional voice lines from your Ghost, and help flesh out the Destiny universe even more.
To track down these scannables, I recommend using the website Braytech.org. Its Checklists function will show you everything you’re missing, and its Maps function will tell you exactly where to find them.
Finish up your chores for these Titles
A number of Titles will likely become unobtainable once Beyond Light is here. This means you won’t be able to complete required items for them, and will thus be unable to gain and equip them.
The discussion around this is still pretty fuzzy, and it’s possible Bungie could change some Title requirements to make them obtainable again. With activities and destinations disappearing, though, these are the Titles that are probably in the most danger:
- Forerunner — Season of Arrivals (the current season)
- Blacksmith — Black Armory
- Reckoner — Season of the Drifter
- Chronicler — Lore
- Wayfarer — Destinations
- All other seasonal titles from the past (if they’re not already unobtainable)
Clean out your Vault
For about two years, players had the ability to “infuse” weapons and armor with more power, thus bringing them up to current power levels. This season, Bungie fired a warning shot, essentially telling everyone their gear from the base game and most other sources would be power capped going forward.
What does this mean for you? Well, you probably have a Vault full of stuff from Destiny 2‘s launch, Forsaken, Shadowkeep, and all the DLCs and Seasons in between. A whole lot of it is getting power capped. In fact, the list of what isn’t power capped is a lot shorter than the list of what is.
- Items from Season of Dawn or later are not capped (yet)
- Items from the “Last Wish” raid are not capped (yet)
- Items from the “Garden of Salvation” raid are not capped (yet)
For some reason, Bungie is keeping gear from the prior two raids viable. Bungie is also keeping anything less than a year old (outside of that raid gear) infusable. If you have a weapon or armor piece that doesn’t fall into those categories, it’s not being automatically deleted, but you’ll have a tough time using it in activities where your power level matters.
There is the upcoming transmog feature to consider in terms of keeping armor pieces around. As it turns out, though, you don’t need to stow items in hopes of using them as decorative accessories later. According to Luke Smith, Bungie will scan your history of acquired items for armor that can later be used for transmog. So there’s really no need to keep armor around you’ll never wear again.
Delete it all. Clear your mind and your Vault all at once.
With that, I have nothing more to add in terms of what you should do prior to Beyond Light‘s launch on Nov. 10. I’m looking forward to the expansion and the secrets it holds. Perhaps I’ll see you on Europa.
