guide to Season of Arrivals

When Destiny 2‘s Season of Arrivals wraps up on Nov. 10, it’ll be the end of an era for the game at large. With the Beyond Light expansion, Bungie is introducing something called the Destiny Content Vault, which will serve as a storage unit of sorts for some Destiny 2 locations and activities. Players will benefit to some degree from this move — the game should take up much less space, for starters. And since some destinations are disappearing, Bungie is taking the opportunity to bring back old favorites, like the first Destiny‘s Cosmodrome.

Still, Bungie is boxing up a lot of memories with the Destiny Content Vault. It’s unclear when you’ll get to do these activities again, so if you want to experience the full world of Destiny 2 before it changes dramatically, now’s the time.

Here’s what you should focus on to get the most out of your experience.

Complete the campaigns

The Destiny Content Vault will do away with three story expansions when it arrives on Nov. 10, including the base campaign that served as the introduction to Destiny 2. This campaign, called The Red War, had Guardians facing off against a group of Cabal known as the Red Legion, and served to set up the many conflicts Guardians have had since with that enemy.

Curse of Osiris is also hitting the Vault. Though this one isn’t everyone’s favorite expansion, it does take you to Mercury and introduce you to Osiris — often mentioned in the original Destiny — for the very first time. It’s also where you first catch a glimpse of the Tower’s Saint-14. That’s all I’ll say about that.

Finally Warmind is going into storage, too. In Warmind, you head to a colder region of Mars to investigate some unusual Hive activity. Along the way, you meet legendary Hunter Ana Bray, and finally come face to giant mainframe with Rasputin, the artificial intelligence tasked with defending Earth.

If you’re new to Destiny 2 or somehow skipped out on these, you should play them. If you’re someone who does — or could potentially — care about the lore of the Destiny universe, they’re almost required.

Clear the raids

An astounding five raids are being vaulted when Beyond Light drops, including Destiny 2‘s first. That alone makes it bittersweet. There are players who know the Leviathan like the backs of their hands at this point. Seeing it go is going to be a little tough.

Here’s the list of what’s going away.

  • Leviathan (The Leviathan, Nessus’ orbit)
The first raid of Destiny 2 and perhaps the most fun
  • Eater of Worlds (The Leviathan, Nessus’ orbit)
Short but sweet — great for those who are new to raiding
  • Spire of Stars (The Leviathan, Nessus’ orbit)
A lot of moving parts in this one, but immensely satisfying to complete
  • Crown of Sorrow (The Leviathan, Nessus’ orbit)
Steps it up a bit in terms of difficult mechanics, but again, satisfying
  • Scourge of the Past (The Last City, Earth)
Another short raid that includes one of the most entertaining encounters in any activity

It’s worth noting at this point that three of these raids have exotic weapons tied to them, either by way of rewards or required activities. The ability to get these weapons will be gone when the raids are vaulted, so if you want them now instead of sometime later, here they are:

  • Legend of Acrius (Leviathan)
  • Tarrabah (Crown of Sorrow)
  • Anarchy (Scourge of the Past)
