Xbox Fitness (Closed July 2017)

Xbox Fitness was a Xbox One service that Microsoft Studios developed in partnership with Sumo Digital. It featured exercise and fitness videos from Jillian Michaels and Tracy Anderson as well as Tony Horton, Shaun T, and Shaun T, of Insanity. Xbox Fitness was one 22 games that were launched with Xbox One. The Kinect sensor was used to monitor the player’s heart rate, estimated calories burned and provide feedback on how the player is doing with the exercise activities.

Zumba Fitness: World Party

Zumba Fitness: World Party (a.k.a. Zumba Fitness 4 is the fourth installment in the Fitness series. This game is the sequel to Zumba Fitness Core (2012). This game is based upon the Zumba program, which was later followed by Zumba Kids (2013). Majesco Entertainment published the game. Zoe Mode developed it. It was released on November 2013, for Xbox 360, Wii U and Wii consoles, as well as Xbox One.

You can choose from 45 pre-set classes or customize your workout. You can learn many dance styles including Bollywood, calypso and hip-hop. Players can unlock songs from seven different countries through the world tour mode.

Just Dance 2021

Ubisoft developed Just Dance 2021, a dance rhythm video game. It was revealed at the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase website presentation on August 26, 2020. The twelfth installment in the series was released on November 12, 2020 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. On November 24, 2020, it was released for PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Stadia.

Although the Just Dance 2021 interface and features are nearly identical to 2019, 2020 and 2020, there have been few changes. The World Dance Floor is a 3-song competition that matches players’ levels with others of similar levels. It also has a new scoring system for players who dance to a song. This allows them to track who is the highest rank and gives them extra motivation to improve their rhythmic skills.

A new mode called “Quick Play mode”, which allows players to instantly jump into dancing to a random song, is also available in the game.

This is the first title in the series that has not been announced at E3 since the original title. It was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is also the first main series game not to be released on Wii. Just Dance 2022 is the sequel that will be released on November 4, 2021.

Kinect Sports Rivals

Kinect Sports Rivals, a video game about sports developed by Rare, is published by Microsoft Studios and available for Xbox One by Microsoft Studios.

Kinect Sports rivals, the third installment in the Kinect Sports Series, utilizes the Kinect motion-sensing cam. The game was revealed at Microsoft’s E3 2013 press conference and released on April 8, 2014.

Shape Up

Shape up mixes novel exercises with exercise methods. Users may, for example, punch asteroids or squat down to the moon. Or, bench press an elephant. This arcade-style game has visuals.

The camera allows users to project their bodies onto a screen to track calories and workouts. Online mode allows users to exercise together. You can choose between 90-second training sessions and long-term, 4-week goal-oriented sessions.

Dance Central Spotlight

Dance Central Spotlight is a simpler version of previous Dance Central titles.

The game is mainly focused on the core gameplay, with simplified offerings of standard and exercise modes and no story mode.

It retains the core gameplay of Dance Central, but with more routines per song, regular releases of new songs as downloadable content, an emphasis on motion detection improvements of Kinect for Xbox One, and leverage of improved motion detection capabilities.

The practice mode has been redesigned to be more dynamic and on-demand than the traditional, structured approach used in previous Dance Centralgames. Players can jump into training mode by speaking or using controller commands.

Your Shape: Fitness Evolved

Your Shape: Fitness Evolved uses “player projection” technology for capturing the shape and form of the player, dynamically incorporating them into the game environment, and creating routines that the player will enjoy.

This game places more emphasis on resistance training and exercises that were developed in collaboration with Men’s Health Magazines Women’s Health.

Your Shape: Fitness Evolved also allows players to track their calories loss and set personal goals.

Nike+ Kinect Training

Nike+ Kinect Training, a fitness game for Xbox 360. It was developed in collaboration with Nike, an athletics company. It was launched on October 30, 2012.

You can compete with other users with NikeFuel Points, which are a measure of athletic performance.

The development team of Nike+ Kinect Training was nominated in February 2013 for a BAFTA Games award under the Sports/Fitness category. It was defeated by New Star Soccer at 9th British Academy Games Awards.

Kinect Sports (Original)

Kinect Sports is a collection that includes six simulations of sports and eight mini-games. It was created to show the motion-sensing abilities of Kinect.

There are six sports: boxing, ten-pin bowling and boxing. The Kinect sensor is placed in front of the player. Players compete by imitating actions in real-life sports such as throwing a javelin and kicking a football.

Zumba Fitness 2

Zumba Fitness 2 (based on the Zumba program) is the second installment in the Fitness series. It is the sequel to Zumba Fitness (2010) and later Zumba Fitness Core (2012). It was developed by Zoe Mode, and published by Majesco Entertainment. It was first released on Wii in November 2011, and then on Kinect for Xbox 360 (February 2012) under the title Zumba Fitness Rush.

UFC Personal Trainer

The official weigh-in with Dana White determines the player’s height, weight, and fitness. The player will also be asked to take a quick fitness test, which can be repeated as many times as they wish. You can choose from pre-set 30 or 60 day workouts, as well as workouts that are tailored to each fighter. You can also make custom workouts with Dana White, called the “The Customized Workout”.

Dance Central (Original)

Dance Central is a rhythm-based game that allows players to follow the movements of characters in different arenas. They can also earn stars. Flashcards are displayed on the right side of characters and provide guidance. They show the current move being performed. Each move is judged using four criteria: X, Almost Nice, Nice, and Flawless. The arena will glow with light if a player has earned a series of Flawlesses. This can be maintained by Nice critiques or Flawlesses.

Kinect Star Wars

Kinect Star Wars, a Star Wars videogame developed by Terminal Reality, is published by LucasArts for the Xbox 360 and uses the Kinect motion peripheral. There are four game modes in the game: “Jedi Destiny”, which is the primary mode, podracing, Rancor Rampage, and Galactic Dance off. Jedi Destiny lets players play the role of Jedi Padawans, using their lightsabers to attack enemy with the Force. They use gestures to do this, mainly from the prequel trilogy.

The Kinect allows the player to use their hands to control a lightsaber during combat. You can also lift or throw objects using the Force by making certain gestures. The story is set in the prequel trilogy timeline of the Star Wars universe. It begins shortly after Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace, and ends with Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

Self-Defense Training Camp

Self-Defense Training Camp teaches players how to use martial arts-based techniques, tai chi forms, and self defense. The main menu has four game modes: “Cardio Workout”, Balance Practices”, Self Defense Rehearsal”, “Reflex Training” and “Cardio Workout”. “Cardio Workout” allows players to perform “martial art fitness workouts” such as kicks and punches. “Balance Practices” involves doing yoga-style stretches.

The game overall did not get a great reception from critics but it’s worth mentioning due to it’s uniqueness.

Kinect Adventures!

Kinect Adventures! Full body motion allows the player to engage with a variety minigames that all feature jump-in/jump-out multiplayer play. Each minigame takes approximately three minutes. Reflex Ridge, a competitive minigame, is co-operative and can be played in two players. You can also play the game with Xbox Live multiplayer. The RGB camera on Kinect would capture photos at various points throughout the game. These were then shown to the player and stored to a storage device.
