There are lots of Warhammer 40,000 games in lots of different genres varying from turn-based strategies to first-person shooters. The fictional universe is all about the unending and brutal war between races. And you can also experience the war in the far-off future. Have a look at the best 40K games that are available on Xbox consoles.

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr

The world of Warhammer 40K introduces us to the duty-crazed and faithful detectives that are called Inquisitors. These are heavily armed, genetically engineered super-warriors in the Imperium of Man. And they only have one mission: to purge the heretics.

That’s who you are in Warhammer 40,000 Inquisitor – Martyr. In this action RPG, you get to play as a titular Inquisitor who is tasked with an investigation in Caligari Sector. The player can discover the areas while fighting against Xenos throughout the campaign. You can also play it with your friends with CO-OP mode or against them in PvP mode. The game was released back in July 2018 for Xbox One.

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus

If you are a fan of turn-based strategy games like XCOM, you should definitely check out Mechanicus. The game does not only bring something new to 40K games, but it also gives us a chance to play Cult Mechanicus, a mysterious faction within the 40K universe.

The game further sheds light on a mystical race called Necrons. You, as the tech-priests of Mars, investigate their ancient tombs on different sectors and eliminate the threat they pose against the Cult and the Imperium. The game was released back in July 2020 for Xbox One.

Space Hulk: Tactics

Space Hulk: Tactics is another challenging turn-based strategy game which allows players to control a squad of Space Hulk warriors. The game also lets you play as Genestealers, one of the most powerful creatures in the sector. Space Hulk: Tactics is based on the tabletop game which was released in 1989.

Tactics is a great strategy game for those who love to play some solid turn-based combat and gameplay.

BONUS #1: Necromunda: Hired Gun

Necromunda: Hired Gun is going to be released this year as well. The action-packed FPS game will be on Xbox Series X|S along with Xbox One on June 1st.

The epic trailer of the upcoming game is on the official YouTube channel of Xbox. The game takes place in the grimdark universe of Warhammer 40,000. The players will get to play as bounty hunters with a cyber-mastiff.

BONUS #2: Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector

Battlesector is one of the most recent titles preparing to join the universe of 40K games besides Necromunda. It is also a turn-based strategy game that takes place during the events following the Devastation of Baal.

The game will give players a chance to manage iconic units like Librarian Dreadnought, Hive Tyrant, and Sanguinary Priest. Developed by Black Lab Games, the game will be available this May for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS4. It is also one of the most anticipated Warhammer 40K games this year.

What is Warhammer 40K about?

Games Workshop released Warhammer tabletop games during the 1980s. Warhammer is originally a tabletop game that you play with lots of miniatures which can be painted with mini-brushes and special paints.

Warhammer 40,000 takes the players to a far future where art, technology, and science became echoes of the past. Mankind has traveled to stars. He also conquered many planets and created worlds. But now he has to fight against the whole universe to claim its birthright: the absolute domination of the galaxy.

In order to complete this mission, Imperium of Man should fight without fear and worry under the name of their glorious Emperor. His enemies are the forces of Chaos, Orks, Necrons, Tyranids, and much more. And in the grim darkness of the future, there is only war. Along with the fantasy version called Age of Sigmar, Warhammer has gained lots of fans over the years. The fictional universe is refined into many video games in the past. And it seems like there will be many more in the future.
