Elden Ring preload is now available for those who pre-order the game on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Those who preload the game will not have to wait for it to download later on.

FromSoftware‘s long-awaited game Elden Ring will take the players to a brutal new land of fantasy called the Lands Between. The new action RPG is one of the most anticipated games in recent years. And it will launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC on February 25th, 2022. But the users who preorder the game can start downloading the title before the release date. The file size is stated to be around 50 gigabytes. Though that might also change until the actual release.

If you are going to play the game on Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One, simply head to the title’s page on Xbox. You can start the preloading process right now so that you don’t wait for the installation when the game is released. And to be honest, 50 GB file size is not much for a game like Elden Ring. Considering that it is a recent AAA title, we thought it would require at least more than 80 gigabytes of free space.

The system requirements of the anticipated RPG were also announced a few days ago. People who are going to experience FromSoftware’s new title on PC will have to wait for the preload announcements, though. Elden Ring preload is only available on Xbox consoles for now. But stay tuned as they will probably announce the dates for other platforms soon.

About Elden Ring

Elden Ring adopts the difficult yet rewarding combat style of the previous games of FromSoftware. The upcoming action RPG combines the gameplay formula of Dark Souls with solid open-world elements. According to the players who played the game during the network test, it puts a high emphasis on discovery and boss fights like the Souls games as well. It will offer a vertical gameplay style thanks to the mount as well. With the mount, Torrent, players will be able to discover the Lands Between a lot faster and more freely.

The game director behind Elden Ring, Hidetaka Miyazaki commented on the game’s difficulty level too. Miyazaki stated that the new title will come with a less steep learning curve for new players. But fans of Dark Souls and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will find it challenging as well. He also said that they were aware of the fact that Souls games are known for their difficulties. Though the formula has proved successful as the Souls franchise is one of the best series in the world of gaming.

Content creators had to chance to experience the earlier builds of the highly-anticipated RPG. Since then, the game has received lots of good reviews from those who got to visit the Lands Between. The final build of the game, on the other hand, received even more great reception thanks to improvements in UI and HUD. You can have a look at the video below.
