Jumping into Destiny 2: Beyond Light? Here are the best mods for the Fang of Xivu Arath seasonal artifact.
Fang of Xivu Arath best mods

With Beyond Light‘s campaign out of the way, it’s finally time to focus a little more on the specs of your Destiny 2 character. If you’re playing Destiny 2: Beyond Light and want to know which Fang of Xivu Arath seasonal artifact mods are the best, this guide should steer you in the right direction.

You can’t purchase all of these — you won’t have enough unlocks to do so. Really, what you should is keep your style of play in mind and choose the mods that complement that the best.

Without further ado, here we go.

Momentum Siphon – Class Item Mod (1 Energy Cost)

“Recharge your melee ability whenever you or a member of your fireteam staggers a Champion.”

This one here seems tailor made for Nightfall strikes and such. If you’re a Stasis wielder on freeze patrol for your crew, you can slow down a larger enemy just long enough for someone else to put the screws to them. If that enemy then gets staggered afterward, you’ll have your melee back! Rinse, repeat.

Surge Eater – Class Item Mod (1 Energy Cost)

“Recharge your grenade ability whenever you or a member of your fireteam disrupts a Champion.”

Another great pick for those who do a lot of endgame activities. Pair it with a disruptive weapon — or bring along a friend who has disruptive abilities in their arsenal — and you’ll be getting your grenades back on the regular.

Unstoppable Schwarzschild Condensor – Class Item Mod (2 Energy Cost)

“Void melee abilities stagger unshielded combatants. Strong against Unstoppable Champions.”

If you typically run a void subclass, this one can be pretty clutch when an Unstoppable Champion is bearing down on you. Whether you’re tossing out Hunter smokes, unleashing a Devour slap, or Shield Bashing the crap out of an enemy as a Titan, all of those melee abilities will work to stagger Unstoppables, giving you time to really lay into them.

Thermal Overload – Class Item Mod (2 Energy Cost)

“Solar and Stasis grenades cause disruption, delaying ability regeneration and lowering combatant damage output. Strong against Overload Champions.”

Ammo can sometimes to be hard to come by in more difficult activities, especially if you’re constantly having to shoot down barriers or pour bullets into Overload Champions. This mod will give your Solar and Stasis grenades the ability to disrupt those enemies so you can save those precious slugs for something else.

Spoils of War – Class Item Mod (6 Energy Cost)

“Defeating a Champion by using a finisher spawns Heavy ammo for you and your fireteam.”

You know what there never seems to be enough of in tough encounters? Heavy ammo. You can throw a super duper deluxe Heavy ammo finder on, and it still seems to drop pretty sparingly. Fortunately, this mod takes care of that little problem. Equip it, then perform a finisher on a Champion to drop some guaranteed Heavy. All you have to do is make sure your teammates don’t burn that Champion down before you get a chance to finish them.

Unstoppable Shotgun – Arms Armor Mod (7 Energy Cost)

“Shotguns you wield fire a powerful explosive payload that staggers unshielded combatants. Strong against Unstoppable Champions.”

Sick of only being able to choose Scout Rifles and Side Arms for important tasks like taking down a freaking Unstoppable Champion? No longer. This Unstoppable Shotgun mod — while expensive on the Energy Cost side of things — lets you keep running that beast of a shotty while still taking care of any Unstoppables you come across.

Pyretic Embrace – Class Item Mod (4 Energy Cost)

“Casting a Solar Super restores you to full health and shields.”

Believe it or not, I actually think this particular mod could be insanely useful in the Crucible — especially if you’re a squishy Hunter running Golden Gun or Blade Barrage. If you find yourself in a jam with this mod equipped, pop your Super, watch your health and shields magically replenish, and then go absolutely ballistic on those who were trying to take you down.

Abyssal Charge – Combat Style Armor Mod (2 Energy Cost)

“Become Charged with Light by defeating combatants with Void melee abilities.”

The whole “Charged with Light” system is vastly underutilized by a lot of players, and that’s a darn shame. You can put some serious damage on bosses and such when you’re working with several stacks of Charged with Light. Past mods that give you stacks of CwL do so with more oddball requirements, like “Pick up orbs of Light” or something. This one is easy: kill things with Void melee abilities, and boom, you’re charged.
