Back on Jan. 12, 2021, the video game world got some pretty huge (and unexpected news). A new Indiana Jones game is on the way, and MachineGames — the Bethesda-owned studio behind the Wolfenstein series — is making it. On top of that, Bethesda’s Todd Howard is on the project as executive producer. All of that is a lot to take in, sure, but you’re probably wondering: what is the Indiana Jones game release date?
Sadly, there’s not a whole lot of news right now about Bethesda’s Indiana Jones game, and release date is one of the details that remains up in the air. In fact, aside from the Bethesda.net article linked above, the only real other info we have on this game is this teaser tweet from Bethesda’s Twitter account:
MachineGames last did work on Wolfenstein: Youngblood, which released in 2019. Given the typical 3, 4, or 5 years most studios take to make a game — and given the coronavirus pandemic and how it has affected development — you probably shouldn’t expect to see the Indiana Jones game for a few years. Perhaps 2022, 2023, or even 2024 is a safe bet. If you’re hoping to see this new title this year, you are likely going to be disappointed.
We’ll be sure to update this page once we have more details about a potential Indiana Jones game release date. This news is undoubtedly in high demand, and Bethesda may have a hard time keeping a lid on it for very long.
